Gunned down Khalistani insurgent Sukhdool Singh was reportedly an ally of Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Dalla, an archrival of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.
Being on India’s wanted list, the Moga resident fled India in 2017 using fake documents. India’s National Investigation Agency had sought the pro-Khalistani ever since.
Singh, who was otherwise known as Sukha Duneke, had seven cases registered against him, NDTV reported citing Indian records.
Tensions between Canada and India have escalated over the killing of a pro-Khalistani in June.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country was investigating credible allegations that Indian government agents were connected to the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, but India has rejected the allegations as absurd.

India has frequently asked Ottawa to restrict the Khalistani movement, which has diminishing support in India. However, Khalistani outfits have had a growing popularity overseas, including US, UK and Canada.
