Nagaland minister Temjen Imna Along's witty solution for keeping India's population in check is getting many laughs on social media.

On the occasion of World Population Day, Along urged people to be sensible towards the issues of population growth and inculcate informed choices on childbearing.

While this seems like a perfectly thoughtful tweet, the line that followed had everyone floored.

He invited the citizens to 'stay single' like him to control population growth and contribute towards a sustainable future.
