Women's Reservation Bill, the landmark legislation was cleared in Rajya Sabha unanimously on Sept 21.

The bill proposes 33 per cent quota to women in the Lower House (LS) and state assemblies.

The Bill was verbally supported by nearly all members of Parliament--cutting across party lines, however some batted for quota within the proposed reservation.

Pertinently, the bill was cleared in the Lok Sabha with 454 MPs voting in its support and only two against.
