The world's most expensive mango - costing nearly ₹3 lakh per kilogram - was displayed at a mango festival organised in Raipur recently.
RP Gupta, a retired general manager at Coal India, displayed the Miyazaki mangoes at the festival. Gupta said that it takes a lot of care to grow the mangoes which originated in Japan.
Explaining the fruit's special features, Gupta said that the part of the mango which receives sunlight tastes different from the side which is in the shade.
The Miyazaki mango costs ₹2.7 lakh per kg, and is usually traded as a corporate gift, he said.
