India reported 1.34 lakh new Covid cases, 2,887 deaths in 24 hours

India has recorded 1,34,154 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours along with 2,887 deaths, the Union Health Ministry data showed on Thurssday. 66.58% of the new cases have been reported from the five states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh

India's active caseload now stands at over 17 lakhs. In the last 24 hours, active cases have declined by 80,232.

The total Covid-19 death toll has touched 3,37,989.

However, the recovery rate has improved and is currently at 92.79%.

India has so far administered over 22 crore Covid vaccine doses.
