India's Covid death rate at 1.52%, lowest since March: Health Ministry

The Health Ministry on Friday said that India has one of the lowest Covid-19 deaths per million population in the world. Since October 4, less than 1000 fatalities have been reported daily which was at 1.52 percent since March 22.
According to reports, 22 States and Union Territories have demonstrated better performance as compared to the national average.
On the other hand, the 13 State and UTs where the death per million population was more than the national average included Puducherry, Maharashtra, Goa, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
The total number of recoveries have surged to 64,53,779 and exceeded active cases of COVID-19 by 56,49,251.
