India set to ban Bitcoin, readies cryptocurrency bill: reports

In what could be a big blow for cryptocurrency backers sources have told Reuters that the Govt is getting ready to propose a law banning cryptocurrencies and fining anyone trading in the country or even holding such digital assets.

Unnamed senior govt officials have told Reuters that the bill which is seeming to be the toughest on the digital token globally would give holders of cryptocurrencies up to six months to liquidate, after which penalties will be levied.
