India sparkles as Diwali festivities begin

Monuments and streets across India have been lit up as Diwali celebrations begin in the country. 

Thousands of 'diyas' lit up the banks of Saryu river in Ayodhya as part of UP govt's 'Deepotsav' celebrations.

Akshardham temples in Delhi and Gujarat's Gandhinagar were illuminated with lights. 

Golden Temple shone even brighter in the glow of the Diwali lights.
