International Emmys 2021: Israeli drama 'Tehran' wins Best Drama, David Tennant wins Best Actor

The French comedy 'Call My Agent' and Israeli drama 'Tehran' took the top prizes at the 49th annual International Emmys, which here handed out Monday night during an in-person ceremony in New York.

Israeli thriller 'Tehran', picked up globally by Apple TV+, beat Indian series 'Aarya', Chilean show 'El Presidente' and British program 'There She Goes' in the best drama category.

Actor David Tennant took the trophy for the Best Actor for his role as a serial killer in thriller 'Des', while actor Hayley Squires won the Best Actress Emmy for her performance in 'Adult Material', a four-part British drama series about a woman's life working in the adult film industry.

Netflix documentary 'Hope Frozen: A Quest to Live Twice' took the documentary award. This was Thailand's first International Emmy.
