Chennai Super Kings resumed their IPL 2021 campaign on a winning note as they beat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs on Sunday.
MS Dhoni's decision to bat first seemed to have backfired when his side was reduced to 24/4 and Ambati Rayudu also back in the hut with an injury. But Ruturaj Gaikwad dropped anchor and smashed an unbeaten 58-ball-88. His highest IPL score helped CSK finish at 156/6. Mumbai's run chase was derailed with regular wickets as Dhoni's experience came handy once again. After Deepak Chahar's 2 wickets up front, Dwayne Bravo ended up with 3 scalps as Mumbai could manage 136/8 in reply.
Courtesy their 6th win from 8 games, CSK is now climbed to the top spot in the standings.
