It was a night to savour for Italy as they beat Spain 4-2 on penalties at the Wembley stadium to make it to their 4th final of the European Championship.
After a goalless first 60 minutes, Federico Chiesa finally broke the deadlock and it seemed that that would be it. But substitute Alvaro Morata equalised with 10 minutes to go. No one scored in extra time as the game went into penalty shootouts. Morata's penalty miss there though proved costly as Spain lost a semi-final for the first time in their history.
Italy on the other hand reached their 10th major tournament final and with that, took their unbeaten run to 33 games.
