Jailed Pinjra Tod activist Natasha Narwal lost her father Mahavir Narwal to Covid on Sunday. Natasha was arrested on May 23 last year from her home, along with fellow Pinjra Tod activist Devangana Kalita, and booked under stringent UAPA for her alleged role in the Delhi riots. The Delhi High Court has granted 3-week interim bail to Natasha Narwal for the last rites of her father. Her father was battling Covid-19 for almost a week. In the last one year, he made frequent trips during court hearings from Rohtak to Delhi in the hopes of seeing her free. He all along maintained that Natasha is "absolutely innocent" and supported her activism. Natasha now only has a younger brother, Akash, as sole surviving relative. He too is Covid positive. They lost their mother at a very young age.
