According to reports, Reliance is all set to announce an affordable Jio 5G smartphone at its Annual General Meeting on June 24.
Jio and Google had earlier announced they were collaborating on making a low-cost smartphone, after Google purchased a 7.7% stake in the company with an investment of ₹33,737 crore.
The phone is expected to run a customised, barebones version of Android named JioOS. A Bloomberg report said that the phone could cost around ₹4,000, making it the cheapest 5G phone available in India.
Reliance may also announce a JioBook laptop, that will run Android 10, powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor.
