After months of delay due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange will appear before a London court on Monday as he fights to avoid extradition to the United States.
Assange is facing 18 charges including violation of espionage law and hacking of government data. US authorities accuse the Australian for releasing several secretive diplomatic and military files related to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in 2010.
The 49-year-old is currently held as a prisoner in East London. Hearings that took place in February, were scheduled to resume in May but they were postponed due to the pandemic.
