Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar dies at 46 after heart attack

Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar died on Friday after suffering a heart attack. He was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru around 11:30 am in a critical condition. He was non-responsive and was in a Cardiac Asystole.

Puneeeth Rajkumar was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A group of doctors were constantly monitoring him.

46-year-old Puneeth was fondly called Appu by his fans. He was the son of legendary actors Rajkumar and Parvathamma and had acted in over 29 Kannada films as the male lead.

He was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which was released early this year.

Puneeth's fans gathered outside the hospital to pay their respects. Several members of the industry also expressed their disbelief and offered their condolences.

The Karnataka government said that the last rites of actor Puneeeth Rajkumar will be performed with state honours at the Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru.
