Addressing the recent change of guards in states led by both BJP and the Congress, Kapil Sibal on Sunday asked if this will help the parties.
Pointing to the sudden change in Chief Ministers in three states ahead of the state polls in 2022, Congress leader Kapil Sibal asked if it will buy parties time and help them correct their course.
The veteran Congress leader who wrote to Sonia Gandhi seeking organisational overhaul, in his tweet named a Congress state, Punjab, along with the two BJP states, Uttarakhand and Gujarat, where the Chief Ministers have been replaced recently.
Referring to the English proverb ‘a stitch in time saves nine’, the leader appeared to ask if the exercise of changing CMs will be useful to the parties in the present case.
In Uttarakhand, Tirath Singh Rawat quit barely four months after replacing Trivendra Rawat. He was replaced by Pushkar Singh Dhami who is the current CM of Uttarakhand. In Gujarat, Vijay Rupani resigned as Chief Minister a year ahead of state polls and was replaced with Bhupendra Patel. Meanwhile in Punjab Amarinder Singh quit as Punjab CM amid Congress infighting.
