Karan Johar unveils the first look of 'Govinda Naam Mera' starring Vicky Kaushal

Karan Johar unveiled the first look of 'Govinda Naam Mera', the next project of Dharma Productions. Actor Vicky Kaushal will essay the role of the film's protagonist Govinda Waghmare.

Sharing the first look, Karan wrote, "Meet Govinda Waghmare! Heart of gold and dance moves are bold! Presenting #GovindaNaamMera, where there will be unlimited laughter, confusion and chaos!"

Karan shared the details of Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani's characters. Bhumi will essay the role of Mrs. Waghmare, the wife of Vicky Kaushal's character. "Mrs.Waghmare is a force to be reckoned with! Meet her in #GovindaNaamMera," Karan posted.

Kiara Advani has been cast as the "naughty girlfriend" in the film. "What’s a story without a few twists? And what’s a story without a gorgeous lady to bring them! #GovindaNaamMera, a package of entertainment for you is coming to cinemas" the filmmaker tweeted.

Touted as a light-hearted family entertainer, 'Govinda Naam Mera' will be written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, who earlier collaborated with Karan Johar on projects including 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' and 'Dhadak'.

The film will release on June 10, 2022 in theatres nationwide. The film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan in collaboration with Viacom18 Studios.
