From a shy Gwalior boy, who made his film debut in 2011 with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', to a superstar in the making, Kartik Aaryan made sure of one thing, that people turn around and take note.
Though he's still a new kid on the block, there's no doubt he can give the who's who of Bollywood a run for their money. Here's a look at his journey.
Recounting his initial days of struggle, Kartik revealed that he would travel between Belapur to Andheri by local train every day hunting for roles and showing up at auditions, so much so that he would change his clothes in the washroom at the railway station. Kartik also shared that he shared his two-bedroom apartment with 12 other struggling actors.
Even though his debut film, Luv Ranjan's 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', was a hit, and he stole the show with his 5-minute monologue about women and relationships, things weren't going great for Kartik.
After his first break, there were a series of movies like 'Akash Vani', Subhash Ghai’s 'Kaanchi', Tanuja Chandra's 'Silvat' which didn’t hit the right note with audiences. Kartik says there were times when he almost gave up on his acting dreams.
It was Luv Ranjan’s 2018 film 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' that catapulted Kartik Aaryan to the big leagues. After this film he was voted 'Heartthrob of the year 2018' by Vogue Beauty Awards and also bagged the Zee Cine Award for 'Best Actor in a Comic Role' .
Kartik Aaryan opened 2019 with 'Luka Chuppi' opposite Kriti Sanon which talks about the taboo surrounding live-in relationships in India. The film crossed the ₹100-crore mark and there was no looking back.
After winning hearts with rom-coms, Kartik Aaryan is back and this time with a gritty film titled 'Dhamaka'. The film revolves around the story of a news anchor played by Kartik Aaryan. 'Dhamaka' is currently streaming on Netflix.
Kartik has been roped in to play a ghostbuster in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'. The film is expected to hit theatres in early 2022. That's not all, Kartik will also be seen in director Hansal Mehta's 'Captain India' which is inspired by one of India’s successful rescue missions. Kartik plays the role of a pilot who spearheaded the operation and displayed exemplary bravery and courage.
Kartik Aaryan broke a lot of hearts, after several rumours of link-ups with Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey started doing the rounds, but he says he's not affected by them. At the moment, Kartik says his singular focus is his career.
