Having already won the T20 series, Team India inflicted further humiliation over New Zealand by handing them a 73-run loss in the 3rd T20 in Kolkata. It's now India's biggest win against New Zealand in T20Is.
Rohit Sharma won his 3rd consecutive toss but this time he chose the harder way and opted to bat first. Along with Ishan Kishan, he helped India race to 69 in the powerplay overs. Middle-order failed to impress but a great fightback by the lower order helped the hosts finish at 184/7. Chasing which, New Zealand never got going as Axar Patel rattled The Kiwis with figures of 3/9. There was no coming back as the visitors were bowled out for a mere 111.
With that, India completed its 2nd consecutive T20 series whitewash against New Zealand.
