Home Minister Amit Shah met Minister of State Ajay Mishra on Wednesday amid calls by the opposition to sack him from his post for allegedly stoking violence in Lakhimpur Kheri

Opposition calls for sacking come after Mishra's son allegedly mowed protesting farmers with his car.

Mishra has admitted that the car that killed four farmers belonged to him. However the minister has denied his son Ashish Mishra was present on the spot.

The UP Police have filed a case of murder against Ashish Mishra but he has not yet been arrested. Meanwhile, Ashish Mishra has said when the violence broke out he was attending an event elsewhere.
