Lakhimpur Kheri deaths: Rs 45 lakh to kin of dead farmers, retired HC judge to probe

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that it will pay a compensation of ₹45 lakh and a government job to the kin of the four farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The injured will be given ₹10 lakh. 

The Yogi Adityanath govt has also said that it will order a judicial probe into the deaths.

The farmers have now called off their protest against the deaths in Lakhimpur. 8 people, including 4 farmers, were killed on Sunday after violence erupted during protests against union minister Ajay Mishra

Union minister Ajay Misra's son Ashish Misra has been accused of running over a group of protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, resulting in four deaths.

The BJP claims that the farmers threw stones at the car because of which the driver lost control.
