A week after political leaders from Jammu & Kashmir met the Prime Minister, a delegation of political leaders and civil society members from Kargil met the Minister of State for Home, G Kishan Reddy on Thursday and demanded restoration of Article 370 and 35A along with full statehood for Ladakh. While demanding statehood for Ladakh, the delegation informed the Home Ministry that they were against the bifurcation of the former state of J&K.

Leaders from Congress and National Conference also attended the meeting as part of Kargil Democratic Alliance.

The ministry has been holding meetings with representatives from Ladakh but leaders from Kargil wanted a separate meeting saying their concerns are different.

During a meeting in which BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was also present, Ladakh leaders demanded a state legislature for the Union Territory.
