  1. Known as Senior Bachchan's Amitabh’s actual last name is Srivastava, but the family adopted his father’s nickname ‘Bachchan’.
  2. Before he joined the film industry Amitabh Bachchan who has Double Masters Degree in Arts wanted to become an engineer and wanted to join the Indian Air Force.
  3. Big B's first job was as an executive of a shipping firm in Kolkata with a starting salary of ₹500.
  4. Amitabh Bachchan's first car was a second-hand Fiat
  5. During his struggling days in Mumbai Big B also spent many nights on Marine Drive
  6. Known for his Baritone in the industry Big B was once rejected by All India Radio because of his voice when he went to work as a newsreader.
  7. But Big B began his film career in 1969, by giving his voice in Mrinal Sen’s Bengali film.
  8. Big B started his acting career with ‘Saat Hindustani’ in 1969 and the megastar was paid ₹1,000
  9. Big B gave as many as 12 flops before his first hit film 'Zanzeer' in 1973

During the shooting of 'Coolie' Big B was badly injured while performing a stunt due to which he was infused with blood from 200 different donors.

In 2000 Amitabh Bachchan was diagnosed with Hepatitis B which he got from one of the donors during the blood transfusion. He also has a rare disease of muscle called ‘myasthenia gravis.’ By these muscles get weaker.
