We know that dogs have an incredible sense of smell and for years, investigators have used them to prove the presence of a suspect at a crime scene. But, looks like now they have a competition and their investigative jobs might apparently be under a threat.
According to the researchers at Australia's Flinders University, cats can also be beneficial in investigating criminal cases. During the research, the team observed that felines' fur can retain traces of the genetic material of a person who has been in their close vicinity.
Forensic experts also said that cats can be very useful in determining the presence and activities of a home's inhabitants or even any person who recently visited the crime scene.
