Published in Computers in Human Behavior, the research investigated the impact of smartphones on consumers' spending habits. The findings were based on a survey of more than 250 participants belonging to Generation Z.
Researchers found that 90% of consumers, especially youngsters are encouraged to buy things through online ads. And, spending more time on the phone may automatically lead to shopping compulsively.
