Bella Hadid never fails to surprise us with her looks and her recent Cannes appearance is proof of her impeccable style sense. The diva shared some stunning pictures from the prestigious film festival and left fans surprised as she wore a vintage Michael and Hushi gown from 2001, designed entirely out of red and white Keffiyehs. Here are more details about the attire.

Bella Hadid wears Keffiyeh dress at Cannes

Bella Hadid's white and red dress was made entirely of Keffiyehs. Keffiyeh is a traditional Arab headdress that has become a symbol of Palestinian culture, identity, and resistance. Amid the Israel-Hamas war, pro-Palestenians wear Keffiyehs around their neck or use them to cover their faces.

Bella shared the images of the original dress from when it debuted and wrote, "#michaelandhushi @hushi5 Archival 2001 keffiyeh dress. Free Palestine forever."

According to Hushidar Mortezaie (the label's co-founder), Michael Sears made the Keffiyeh dress and the pattern by hand. Hadid styled the Keffiyah dress with gold hoop earrings, a dainty bracelet, rings, tinted sunglasses, and red sandals.

Bella Hadid's note for Palestine

After being criticised for remaining silent, Bella took to Instagram and penned a note for Palestine and the ongoing war.

She wrote, “Forgive me for my silence. I have yet to find the ideal words for this deeply intricate and horrific past 2 weeks, weeks that have turned the world's attention back towards a situation that has been taking innocent lives and affecting families for decades. I have much to say, but for today, I will keep it short,”

Bella mentioned how she, too, has been impacted by the crisis. “I've been sent hundreds of death threats daily, my phone number has been leaked, and my family has felt to be in danger. But I can not be silenced any longer. Fear is not an option. The people and children of Palestine, especially in Gaza, cannot afford our silence. We are not brave - they are,” she further wrote.

Bella has shared many posts and has been vocal about her support for Palestine.
