To prevent feet from peeling and drying, maintaining foot hygiene and regular moisturising is important. Experts suggest the following tips to get rid of cracked heels.
- Opt for socks made of at least 70% cotton and use fresh pair of socks daily
- After washing your feet, use a separate hand towel and make sure the areas between the toes are completely dry
- On sock-less days, wipe sandals and footwear with a Dettol wipe to eliminate bacteria
- Regularly air out footwear by leaving them outside, especially on hot and dry days
- Let your feet soak in the sun occasionally
- If your feet are peeling and itchy, avoid walking barefoot
- If you have extremely dry skin on your feet, you must consult a podiatrist
