1. Diet
Our skin needs extra measures in replenishing lost minerals and water in summer. Consider adding more berries, citrus fruits, beans, legumes, nuts, foods enriched with vitamin C, E, pre & probiotics, and plenty of fluids to restore healthy skin. Avoid excess oils, processed foods, MSG, white flour, sugars, and artificial additives. Practice meditation to manage stress.
2. Antioxidants
Potent antioxidants such as chamomile, moringa oil, vitamin C, apple stem cells, and vitamin E guard the skin against free radicals and pollution damage. They also help reduce wrinkles, improve skin elasticity and maintain a glowing complexion. The licorice root extract has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce environmental impact, sun damage and balance sebum production.
3. Sunscreen
Some sunscreens contain chemicals that are toxic and allergenic for certain skin types. It’s better to get a prescription sunblock SPF 30 or higher with sufficient protection against UVA and UVB. Use different sunscreens for your body and face as body sunscreens are often heavier formulas with limited benefits. People with extreme sun sensitivity should opt for mineral sunscreens like zinc or titanium oxide.

4. Oil-control
Choose your skincare with caution by opting for products that are gel or water-based as they get absorbed without leaving residue. Incorporate glycolic acid, salicylic acid, niacinamide, and retinol in your day and night routines for refining the skin pores and enhancing skin cell turnover.
5. Double cleansing
Double cleansing in the morning and night with a cream cleanser and face wash is a must if you apply sunscreens and makeup regularly. Gentle exfoliation also helps remove dirt and keeps skin looking young and bright. However, avoid using facial scrubs more than once weekly as they can harm your skin by excessively rubbing the particles into it. Opt for chemical exfoliators such as lactic acid or glycolic acid.
6. Professional skin resurfacing treatments
Treatments like microdermabrasion and peel solutions are often beneficial in revealing clear, dewy skin that feels super smooth. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and micro-needling procedures are excellent for open pore reduction, anti-ageing, and new skin formation.
7. Home Remedies
You can count on glow packs and serums for at-home skincare, apart from the clinical treatments. Understand your skin's needs before trying any new skincare ingredient, be it herbs or even fresh extracts.
8. Hydration
Summer skin also needs hydration. Wear a high-quality moisturizer with clean, non-comedogenic ingredients. Those with oily skin can skip moisturizers and apply their makeup right on top of sunscreen after it has completely absorbed. Check the product labels and only purchase products that suit your skin type and condition.
9. Hairstyles
Don’t neglect your hair while maintaining the summer glow. Your hair products come in contact with your facial skin and need consideration. Thick conditioners or products with SLS, parabens or dense oils aren’t the best choices for those suffering from acne. Avoid bangs on the forehead if you are predisposed to forehead acne.
