Oscar 2024 was all about winning some, losing some and warm acceptance speeches. While Oppenheimer took home the 'Best Film' award, Cillian Murphy won the 'Best Actor' award for his act in the film. The 'Best Actress' award was won by Emma Stone for Pretty Things.

Emma Stone was exhalted at the win and gave a warm acceptance speech. However, Emma suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the event when her Louis Vuitton gown 'broke'. Here is what happened!

Emma Stone suffers wardrobe malfunction

After winning the award for the Best Actress, Emma walked up the stage and realised that she has suffered a wardrobe malfunction. The actress walked up on stage and confessed that her dress broke. While she was unsure when it happened, she believed it happened when she was performing with Ryan Gosling during the performance of I’m Just Ken.

As she received the award, Emma said, “Hoo boy, my dress is broken. I think it happened during “I’m Just Ken.” I’m pretty sure."

She went on to give an emotional speech and ended by saying, "“Don’t look at the back of my dress. Thank you.”

“Oh my God, I’m totally—OK, the other night I was panicking as you can kind of see—it happens a lot—that maybe something like this could happen. And Yorgos [Lanthimos, Poor Things’ director] said to me, “Please take yourself out of it,” and he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies, is all of us together. And I am so deeply honored to share this with every cast member, with every crew member, with every single person who poured their love and their care and their brilliance into the making of this film,” she said during speech.
