Every time we scroll on social media, there's a new beauty hack or skincare regimen. Nowadays, Instagram is obsessed with an Ayurvedic beauty secret moisturising cream known as 'Shata Dhauta Ghrita,' which means '100 times-washed ghee.'

How to prepare Ayurvedic cream

To make this Ayurvedic formulation, you need pure cow's ghee with some water in a copper vessel and need to rotate it 100 times. Each washing cycle involves melting of the ghee followed by the separation of impurities from the ghee to make this age-old cream.

This Ayurvedic cream has shown the capacity to reach the skin's deepest layer and nourish your skin from the inside.

According to the 400-200 BC Charaka Samhita, one of the most important Ayurvedic writings, this cream should be created on the night of the full moon in a pure copper vessel by washing pure cow ghee 100 times while reciting sacred mantras.

Benefits of the 100 times washed ghee

Ghee washed 100 times is believed to offer various benefits for the skin, including whitening, hydration, and the prevention of wrinkles and age spots. Shata Dhauta Ghrita contains Omega-3 and Omega-9 fatty acids, along with vitamins A, D, E, and K, all of which are considered beneficial for skin health.
