As the biggest fashion event, the Met Gala concluded, our Instagram feeds are filled with celebrities' breathtaking looks. This year, sheer clothing/naked dresses, also called butt crack dresses took the centre stage.
From Jennifer Lopez's sheer form-fitting gown covered in silver pearls and rhinestones by Schiaparelli to Kendall's Givenchy gown with a risqué butt cutout, the red carpet was ablaze with daring fashion choices.
Similarly, celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski, Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Elle Fanning among others, stunned in naked dresses and gowns.
Elle Fanning
One wouldn’t be surprised if they thought Elle Fanning was an ice princess attending the Met Gala. The actor, after all, looked gorgeous as ever in a glassy translucent gown by Balmain that made it look like it was made from glass. The outfit, brimming with flowers, and featuring a long tulle train, flowed elegantly behind her as she climbed the Met stairs.
The singing sensation made heads turn (and how) wearing a feathered cape over a see-through lace set. The Grammy winner was decked in a black feathered cape draped across her shoulders, huge earrings, and a lacy-all Marc Jacobs black skirt and corset, that drew inspiration from lingerie and boudoir style. She surely seems to be a huge fan of the trend as she attended the perfectly pink Barbie premiere last year in a silver see-through naked dress and also turned up at the Time100 Gala this April in a see-through Chanel gown.
The 2024 Met Gala celebrated the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the official dress code was “The Garden of Time.
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt captivated audiences with her bold fashion statement at the 2024 Met Gala, donning a stunning shimmery saree by Sabyasachi. Her choice of attire was not only a nod to her Indian heritage but also perfectly aligned with the event's theme, 'Garden of Time.' As she ascended the Met stairs, Alia's extensive train enveloped nearly the entire red carpet, commanding attention and admiration.
