If you too apply oil in your hair at night and wash it the next day, then you must stop it right away. The oil from hair makes your skin oily making it prone to acne. So, it is always better to wash hair after 2-3 hours of applying oil.
All the above efforts go in vain if your towel is not clean. Wiping face with a dirty towel can cause skin infection and acne. Also, instead of rubbing, pat the towel gently on your face.
