Roti: Chapati/Bhakhri or sometimes a paratha made with wheat flour are served.
Puris: Other than roti or bhakri, a Gujarati thali also consists of puri sometimes.
Rice: Usually plain steamed rice or sometimes khichdi is served in the thali.
Dal: Spiced dal is often is made of arhar (toor) dal.
Kadhi: This is a yoghurt-based soup thickened with gram flour and seasoned with spices.
Shaak/Sabzi: Leafy greens and various vegetable vegetable dishes which can be dry or with gravy are important parts of a Gujarati thali. Seasonal vegetables or some popular ones like potatoes, okra (bhindi), eggplant (baigan), and various greens add colour to the thali.
Farsan: Savory snacks, such as dhokla (steamed gram flour cake), khandvi (gram flour rolls), or patra (colocasia leaves (arbi patti) rolled with a spiced besan paste).
Chutneys: Various types of chutneys, like mint (pudina), coriander (dhaniya), or tamarind (imli) chutneys are present in the thali to add extra flavour.
Pickles/Achaar: Mango or vegetables or fruits achaar is a must in a thali.
Papad: Papads made from dal or chickpea flour (besan) also form a part of the thali.
Salad: Simple salads consists of raw vegetables like cucumber, tomato, and onion.
Sweet Dish: Traditional desserts such as shrikhand (sweetened strained yogurt), mohanthal (gram flour fudge), or basundi (sweetened condensed milk with cardamom) are served.

'Chandu Champion' is a biographical sports drama based on the inspiring story of India's first Paralympics gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar who hailed from Gujarat. It stars Kartik Aryan in the titular role. The film has been written and directed by Kabir Khan and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie has been shot in London, Wai, Jammu, and Kashmir. It is slated to release in theatres on 14th June, 2024.
