Butter chicken continues to capture the world's heart, as demonstrated by its ranking in TasteAtlas' 2024/25 World Food Awards.
TasteAtlas, a renowned food and travel guide that ranks dishes based on global ratings, placed Indian cuisine 12th overall in the world, with several popular Indian dishes making it to the "100 Best Dishes in the World" list.
Murg Makhani (butter chicken) secured 29th place, while Hyderabadi Biryani followed closely at 31st. Other Indian favorites like Chicken 65 and Keema were ranked 97th and 100th, respectively. Along with these, Indian dishes such as Amritsari Kulcha, Butter Garlic Naan, and Murgh Makhani were also recognized.
The top spot in the rankings went to Colombia's Lechona, a roasted pig stuffed with yellow peas, green onions, and spices, slow-cooked in a brick oven.
Other notable dishes in the top 10 included Italy's Pizza Napoletana, Brazil's Picanha, Algeria's Rechta, Thailand's Phanaeng Curry, Argentina's Asado, Turkey's Cokertme Kebab, Indonesia's Rawon, Turkey's Cag Kebab, and Ethiopia's Tibs.
