Indian American astronaut Sunita Williams always takes a part of her Indian culture to space. She recently made history as the first woman to pilot a spacecraft on its inaugural test flight. During her third journey to space aboard the Boeing Starliner maiden crew mission, she reportedly carried samosas and fish curry, making headlines.
As samosas visit space, let us check out a few ways to store samosas for longer.
Samosas are made of two layers - a crispy outer layer made from all-purpose flour and a savoury filling of boiled potatoes and Indian spices. These snacks are traditionally deep-fried in cooking oil and served with chutney and ketchup.
To store and freeze samosas, cool them to room temperature before storing them in an air-tight container. After your snack cools, store them inside a freezer. It’s important to ensure minimal moisture inside the container to prevent the food from spoiling.
When you want to eat, fry the samosas on high heat. Make sure to not thaw them.
