Recipe for suji cheela
- In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina, yogurt, and water to make a smooth batter. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the semolina to absorb the liquid.
- After resting, check the consistency of the batter. It should be pourable but not too thin. Add more water if needed.
- Add the chopped vegetables, onion, green chili (if using), coriander leaves, salt, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder to the batter. Mix well to combine.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil or ghee.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it evenly to form a thin circle.
- Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges of the cheela and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the bottom turns golden brown.
- Flip the cheela and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through and crispy.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more cheelas.
- Serve the suji cheelas hot with chutney, yogurt, or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Enjoy your homemade suji cheelas for a nutritious and delicious breakfast or snack!
