Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently revealed his love for nutrient-rich moringa paratha, a dish he enjoys two to three times a week for its immunity-boosting benefits. He encourages everyone to give it a try.

Here’s how to make moringa paratha:

  • Boil a handful of drumsticks and strain out the juice.
  • Mix in sesame seeds, cumin powder, salt, turmeric, red or green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add wheat flour (atta) and knead into a dough.
  • Roll out parathas and serve with your favorite chutney.

Health Benefits of Drumsticks (Moringa):

Nutrient-Rich: Drumsticks are packed with essential nutrients like vitamins A, C, and B-complex, as well as minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium, promoting overall well-being.

Powerful Antioxidants: They contain antioxidants like quercetin, chlorogenic acid, and beta-carotene, which help neutralize free radicals, reducing oxidative stress and supporting cellular health.

Anti-Inflammatory: Moringa has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation and associated symptoms in the body.

Heart Health: The antioxidants and bioactive compounds in drumsticks may help improve heart health by lowering cholesterol and improving lipid profiles.

Blood Sugar Regulation: Some research suggests moringa may help regulate blood sugar levels, which could benefit people with diabetes, though more studies are needed for conclusive evidence.

Digestive Aid: Drumsticks are high in fiber, which supports a healthy digestive system, promotes regular bowel movements, and may prevent constipation.

Immunity Booster: Their high vitamin C content strengthens the immune system, helping the body fight off infections and illnesses.

Bone Health: Drumsticks provide calcium and phosphorus, which help maintain strong bones and may reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Rich in Iron: Moringa is a good source of iron, beneficial for individuals with anemia, as it supports red blood cell production and boosts energy levels.

Antimicrobial Properties: Moringa's antimicrobial and antibacterial properties may help prevent infections and promote overall hygiene.
