Search engine, Google is remembering Gerald Jerry Lawson, known as the father of modern video on his 82nd birth anniversary through its doodle. Lawson was the man who led the team that developed the first home video gaming system with cartridges.
Google has created a collection of interactive doodle games through animation that are reminiscent of early 1970s video games. You can also play the game by clicking on the doodle.
Lawson was born on 1 December 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. With the help of his video gaming console, other popular video games like Super Mario, Contra and Double Dragon were later developed. Lawson passed away on 9 April 2011 at the age of 70.
