Have you ever had back acne? Back acne, also known as "bacne," refers to acne that develops on the back. It is a common skin condition characterised by the presence of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts on the back. Just like face acne, back acne's severity depends varies from mild to severe.

If you are also tired of back acne, here are some dermatologist-recommended ways to get rid of them.

3 things to do if you have back acne

1. Get rid of bacteria

NYC dermatologist Dr. Charles Puza explained three ways to get rid of back acnes. The first step is to get rid of bacteria. “Step one is to kick out the bacteria that have colonized your nose, behind your ears, and your belly button,” Puza explained in a video.

Consult a doctor for the medicine you can use.

2. Benzoyl peroxide wash to the rescue

The dermatologist recommended that one should use a benzoyl peroxide wash on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Benzoyl peroxide is known for killing bacteria and removing dead skin to unclog pores.

3. Change workout clothes often

If you are someone who sweats a lot, make sure to get out of sweaty clothes as soon as possible.

Why do we get back acne?

One of the main causes of back acnes are presence of Propionibacterium acnes. The sebaceous gland is also one of the reasons. The sebaceous gland in the skin produces sebum, an oil that can clog hair follicles and lead to acne.
