Green Tea for Diabetes: According to a study published in the Nutrition and Metabolism journal, green tea intake may help reduce blood sugar levels.
Green tea contains several antioxidants which may be beneficial in the prevention or control of diabetes.
For the study, the team examined 2,194 participants. Based on 27 trials, researchers observed that drinking green tea regularly may help lower Type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is a global health challenge and may affect 693 million people by 2045. It is associated with adverse health outcomes including heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and is one of the leading risk factors for premature mortality.
