Holi 2023: Planning to have 'bhang' this Holi? Take these precautions before you take the plunge

Consuming bhang on Holi is a part of the celebration. Although most people do not have the habit of having bhang regularly, and thus face various health problems due to it; indigestion, vomiting and intoxication are its major ill effects. 

But if you take precautions, you can avoid any untoward situation. Here are the things to be kept in mind if you plan to have bhang this Holi. 

  • Keep your body well hydrated. Drink a little more water and fresh fruit juice two days before consuming bhang.
  • Never have bhang on an empty stomach. Do not mix it with alcohol
  • Bhang might cause indigestion if you eat deep fried pakoras, or sweets with Bhang
  • Avoid chocolate, cocoa or caffeine rich food with bhang
  • Do not have bhang under the sun or if it’s too hot  
  • Do not take any painkillers after consuming bhang
  • Keep it away from heart patients, pregnant women and children
