Due to our sedentary lifestyles, knee or joint pain is a common problem these days. And, with the advancement of medical science, the problem can be easily solved with surgery. However, experts reveal like you may not necessarily have to take the surgical route if such a problem arises.
The study published in the medical journal BMJ reveals that some surgery doesn’t work any better than the best non-surgical treatments. Researchers scrutinised a set of studies on 10 surgeries, including knee, wrist and spine. While in a few cases surgeries proved beneficial, the majority showed that exercise, physiotherapy, proper medication among other factors have worked better.

The study has focused on the key elements of an operation and how patients can look for non-surgical ways. It also tried to narrow down the gap between what requires surgery and what doesn’t.
