Know which cooking oils are healthy and which ones are not

Cooking oils are major parts of our everyday diet. But are you aware of which ones are healthier than the others? How much they must be heated? Let us tell you all about it.  

Healthy cooking oils 

Avocado oil- Avocado oil helps in lowering blood pressure, balancing cholesterol and reduces joint pain. 

Olive oil- Olive oil is rich in vitamin E and has anti-cancer properties. 

Sesame oil- Sesame oil is healthy for heart and improves fasting blood sugar.  

Mustard oil- Mustard oil slows down growth of cancer cells and is beneficial for heart. But consuming more than 600-700 ml per month can be harmful.

Unhealthy cooking oils 

Palm oil- Palm oil is calorie dense and linked to loss of biodiversity.

Sunflower oil- This oil is mostly used for deep frying that emit cooking oil fumes which contain toxic substances that increases risk of cancer.   

Fish or algae oil- This oil is rich in omega-3 that you should take in cold small doses. Avoid using this oil for cooking purpose.
