Previous studies have shown that drinking moderate amounts of alcohol might have some health benefits but a new study suggests that might not be the case after all.
Published in the journal JAMA Network, the research found that drinking alcohol moderately is not safe for health either. For the study, researchers reviewed 107 studies that involved more than 4.8 million participants.
The findings suggested that people who consumed less than an ounce of ethanol (a form of alcohol found in beer, wine and liquor) showed no significant increase in lifespan compared to non-drinkers.
