Vitamin D plays a crucial role in maintaining the body's health. In winter, sun is sparse, and it becomes more important to figure out alternative ways of getting Vitamin D. Sitting under the sun with a warm cup of coffee and soaking in the sun, is probably one of the best things about a winter morning. However, not everyone like the sun and some are even allergic.

If you are allergic to sun rays and yet want the benefits of Vitamin D, here are some ways you can seep in Vitamin D even while not sitting under the sun directly.

How to get Vitamin D sans sitting directly under the sun

If you are sun-shy, make sure to get sun exposure early in the morning. The early morning sun reduces the risk of sunburn and minimises the potential harm to sensitive skin. Make sure to keep your sun exposure to minimum when you start soaking in the sun.

Another thing to keep in mind is sunscreen. Make sunscreens your best friend and keep reapplying once every two hours. Another way to add Vitamin D to your diet is by consuming fatty fish like salmon, fortified dairy products, and Vitamin D supplements.

If you are allergic to sun, always carry an umbrella and any anti-allergic medicine prescribed by a doctor.
