Netizens across India are waiting to see what Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani will wear for their pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar. The duo is all set to tie the knot and their pre-wedding festivities will begin on March 1. Many from Bollywood have been invited to the mega-event that is taking place in Gujarat's Jamnagar.

While we enjoy minute-by-minute update on the big fat Indian shaadi, here is why the Ambanis decided to host the festivities in Jamnagar.

Why Ambanis chose Jamnagar for pre-wedding festivities

Speaking to India Today, the 28-year-old businessman said that he was inspired by PM Narendra Modi's 'Wed in India' call. Anant also revealed that Jamnagar plays a special role in his life as this is where his grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and father Mukesh Ambani started their business. Jamnagar is also Anant's grandmother's birth place, and hence, close to his heart.

He said, "I have grown up here, and it's my good fortune that we could plan the celebration here. This is my dadi's janm bhoomi and my dada and papa's karm bhoomi. It's a matter of pride and happiness when our PM said that one should get married in India. And this is my home. My father often says that this is my dada's sasural (in-laws' house), and hence we are celebrating here. I also believe I am from Jamnagar, yahin ka nagarik hun."

How to spend 24 hours in Jamnagar

Gujarat's Jamnagar is a popular tourist destination and is home to many exciting attractions like scenic spots, hills, religious landmarks, and bird sanctuaries. You can visit the Balachadi Beach or Bala Hanuman Temple during the day. In the evening, you can head to Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary and Aradhana Dham.
