The second year in a pandemic, a big part of 2021 was once again about staying at home to keep ourselves safe. Social media has been both a boon and bane during this time. While the viral challenges kept us hooked to our screens, the kitchen chores forced us to leave our beds. And as this year is coming to an end, let's take a look at the 5 most viral challenges that kept us entertained through 2021.

#WomanDanceChallenge

American singer Doja Cat’s song 'Woman' became a viral sensation when Tiktoker Tracy.oj danced to it. Popular influencers in India like Prajakta Koli and Kusha Kapila got on the floor to shake a leg to the tunes of this popular song.

#Bachpankapyaar

When 14-year old Sahdev Dirdo sang about his bachpan ka pyar in 2019, his school teacher recorded a clip and put it on the Internet. Cut to 2021 and the young lad became a popular voice when rapper and singer Badshah made a music video on the song, featuring Dirdo.

#UrbanDictionaryChallenge

In the month of November, for whatever reason, people started posting the meaning of their names from Urban Dictionary, an online dictionary launched in 1999. While most of the meanings were ridiculously flattering, almost as if people were writing them by themselves, some were funnily accurate as well.

#AccentChallenge

Gone annoyingly viral, the #AccentChallenge required the participants to pronounce a common word in a heavy regional accent. Popularised by Swarnim Karki and Sulochna with their Nepali Accent reel, it was soon followed by many on the Internet.

#iPhoneLockscreenChallenge
