The Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 launch event has started!
This event will focus primarily on hardware, though Android 14 may be announced. All indications point to today's launch of Android 14 alongside Pixel 8. Android 14 appears to be a tune-up, with the majority of enhancements concentrating on privacy and customization.
Leaks suggest that the Pixel Watch 2 will include a 1.2-inch OLED screen, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage space. The stress management system and multi-path heart rate sensor from Fitbit, as well as the electrodermal activity sensor, are examples of potential new health features that could be a part of the Pixel Watch 2.
The Pixel 8 is anticipated to have a 6.17-inch FHD display, while the Pixel 8 Pro may feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are rumoured to be equipped with an in-house Tensor G3 processor. This chipset is rumoured to feature a new 9-core CPU architecture, promising remarkable AI performance. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are anticipated to receive a $100 price increase this year, bringing their respective starting prices to $699 and $899, respectively.
