Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday extended the lockdown by another week till May 24 to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the national capital. Delhi recorded 6,430 new Covid-19 cases and 337 fatalities on Saturday while the positivity rate dipped to 11.32%. Kejriwal asserted that the cases are “slowly and steadily” reducing in Delhi but urged citizens to continue following Covid-appropriate behaviour. Delhi for the second consecutive day, recorded less than 10,000 cases in a day. Metro services will remain suspended till further orders.
