Parliament Winter Session: The bill to repeal three contentious farm laws was passed in both Houses of Parliament on Monday amid opposition ruckus.

The government had listed the bill as the top agenda on the first day of the Winter Session.

The Parliament witnessed stormy scenes as the government wanted to repeal the three contention farm laws on Day one, while the Opposition demanded a debate on the farm laws and farmers issues before passing the bill to repeal the laws.

Both Houses saw adjournments amid Opposition sloganeering demanding a discussion on farmers problems.

The Opposition is also demanding legal backing for MSP as has been demanded by the farmers' unions.

The opposition has also raised the issue of compensation for family members of farmers who had died during the year-long protests against the laws. As per the farmers unions, at least 700 farmers lost their lives during the year-long agitation against the farm laws.

The Congress has demanded a condolence resolution for the farmers who died during the protests.
